Things I Fav – November

 (From Top Left Clockwise)

  1. Read about SweetLips Fish & Chips voted as Australia best F&C on the news. So coincidentally I got some dockets stash from shopping and decided to give this place (Leederville outlet) a go! Frankly, not the best F&C in my humble opinion, but it does looks like this place is run by a family and the waiters were really friendly and apologetic for the long wait for my order to arrive. Such service is hard to come by these days.
  2. After so long, finally went back to Yip Kee Noodle House in Mayland. Coincidentally it was a weekend and Bakuteh was on their menu. It was delicious! I miss having Bakuteh. Use to eat it so often in Malaysia, despite the hot weather, makes me drench in sweat all the time. I truly recommend this.
  3. So one day I decided to be ambitious. After finally getting a squirt bottle, I made a Malaysia cuisine called Roti Jala with Curry Chicken. It was fun doing the quick swirl motion to make the ‘net’ looking-like crepes. More on the recipe soon, I promise!
  4. What do you do when you are hungry and frustrated at work? Go out and hunt for good food to cheer myself up a bit. Finally convinced myself to walk to Allendale Arcade in the city to try Dosukoi Noodle Bar. I tried No. 6 which is Miso Ramen with Fried Chicken Karaage. It was heaven! There were bottles of chili flakes (instead of pepper) on the tables so after I took this picture, I ladle my noodle soup with heaps of them. Think of spicy hot soup, fried juicy chicken, bouncy noodles and thick broth – all in one! I am up for another bowl, anytime! Why oh why, are they open only on Mon-Fri office lunch hours and the only other shop is far far away in Freo?
